They Might Be Giants

Mirabelle’s pants are tighter than her uncle Spencer’s. She is almost twenty-two months old and her jeans are for three year olds. She is now 37.5 inches tall, which puts her in the 99.97th percentile for her age. Out of 10,000 girls her age, only three would be taller than her. She has grown 16.5 inches since she was born. If she can keep up this rate she’ll be 10 feet 9 inches tall by the time she turns twelve!

She makes us laugh with her overly polite ways. When we try to get her to leave the owl at the junior zoo, she’ll politely respond, “No thank you, please.” When we give her anything, she responds, “Thank you, you’re welcome.” When she sneezes, she says, “tissue please.” When she farts she says, “Toot!” Ok, so that’s not so polite, but it’s so cute.

Jasper is no slouch himself. Jasper is 28.5 inches tall and is carrying a 20 pound frame. He was in the 90th percentile, the same size Mira was at his age. His smile is huge and his first tooth has come through. Only a few more to go! You can see from the pictures that he is definitely teething. His favorite teether to chew on is a cold carrot. Yummy.

Mavericks

Josh| May 18, 2008 12:12 am

We drove up to Half Moon Bay and spent Friday morning at the Mavericks beach. What an incredibly gorgeous beach! My friend Sarah and her son Tre showed us how to get there and we had so much fun playing with them. Mirabelle and Tre get along really well and always have a blast! Both Mira and Jasper fell asleep in the car on the way home despite the heat wave going on. I got home and sat with them under the carport for only a few minutes before driving them to the water fountain park to try to cool off. They woke up in happy moods and had fun in the shady park with cool water. I did a good job keeping sunscreen and hats on M & J and myself and yet I still managed to burn my shoulders. Gotta love that sun! Josh applied Jasper’s plain yogurt and aloe vera to the burn and I was cured. What a sweetheart. And what sweethearts Mirabelle and Jasper are. We must have done something very, very right to have such lovely children. Jasper never ceases to amaze me with his patience and good spirits. Mirabelle too, although these days Jasper gets an A+ and Mira only an A. ;)

Life is going well. Happy Mother’s Day to our moms. Lindsey is the greatest mother ever, so I’m going to turn off the computer and try to fold some of the laundry before she does it all. We love you and we hope you enjoy the pictures.
