Big Sur

Yes, Big Sur. Oh my goodness gracious it sure was gorgeous! We had the luck of getting to go down last weekend to drive along the coast for a few hours, stopping along the way to ooooh and aaaah and snap some shots. Josh found an incredible spot up on the cliffs called Ragged Point Inn. We got to climb down to a beach we had to ourselves and relax in the 70 degree sunshine. I didn’t realize that there was such an incredibly beautiful place so close by. We plan to return very soon with a tent and some sleeping bags.
Little Mira Bubbin’s had a wonderful time being carried on the sketchy hike down to the beach. I think she most enjoyed being carried back up to the top of the long hill with Josh and I huffing, puffing and snapping away as she showed us a new photogenic side of herself. She is displaying new tricks and likes and dislikes every day. She has two teeth at the bottom of her mouth and judging by the amount of slobber she spits and her ear pulling there should be a couple of top teeth soon! We just completed a baby sign language series and as I sign words like milk, more, finished and play I hope that she is understanding. Finally I know that she knows what the milk sign means, as she gets a massive grin on her face when I sign it. Around 10 months I’m hoping to see some signs back! Josh is having fun making up new signs. He doesn’t like the sign for daddy and has created a new one. If you know the ASL sign for daddy you will understand why he feels silly making this sign.

All is well with work for us both. Josh has been promoted to being the one to run the office at his school. He said that last week was the hardest week of work he has ever had! He also really loves the learning opportunity this new position brings to him. And speaking of loving opportunities, Mirabelle and I are loving Brilliant Babies. The place is full to the brim of toys, children and fun to be had by both Mirabelle and I. We’re so lucky to be able to work without it feeling like a job. I’m sure thats the way it should be for little Mira.

So there you have it! An update and some pictures. Mom, I hope that you’re happy. I do apologize that the gifted writer out of the two of us has refused to write another blog until I have written one and taken a turn. This is the first blog that I have ever written and I guess that it wasn’t so bad after all. Maybe Josh and I will take turns. :)
